Custom etched glass
Etched glass is a art form that is produced, in basic terms, by protecting the surface of the glass by applying a protective resist material and then cutting the design out to reveal the design or pattern.
There are several techniques to achieve the desired look, from deep carving, or solid frost, to degrees of shading. A skilled steady hand and trained eye is required to cut out the art work. Only with many years of experience can subtly etched affects be used affectively to create depth and dimension.

This is an Etched Glass scene, lit along the top and bottom, the light source purposely hidden and brought to within a fraction of the 3/8" glass to create a fiber optic effect that illuminates within the etched art glass itself. With the surface being smooth glass and design etched from the back side images appear three dimensional , almost floating with in the glass.
